I’m 36 years old and was on a fast track to diabetes and death. I loved food and it was killing me. I had surgery on March 7th 2017. I weighed in at 265lbs and I am 5’5. That’s a bmi of 44 folks. Yikes.
I joined rocks kitchen 4 days after surgery. The support from this community is heartfelt and needed when you’re making this journey. Sometimes the only people who can really understand are the ones who have been there too. It’s also shown me that healthy eating doesn’t mean tasteless diet food. The recipes are amazing and I’m cooking tastier, healthier food than I’ve ever made before. Traveling down this road is hard but this community means not having to do it alone. All things are possible if you put your heart and soul in to it. The best and most important decision I’ve ever made for myself was to not only have surgery but to change my mindset and move down the path of a healthier tomorrow.
